On the 19th July, it was the Seventh Sunday after Trinity and at the start of our 10am Parish Eucharist at St Andrew's, Teresha from the Triumph Heart project was welcomed by us, along with her three daughters. Teresha came to deliver an introduction during the Service to the work of their overseas charity in Uganda and it was soon evident that her passion for Triumph Heart was deeply felt, along no doubt, with her colleagues, such as the helpers and specifically, the physiotherapists. More was explained during coffee and fellowship in the Chapter House after the worship. Triumph Heart works with disabled children in Uganda, bringing love and recognition to the plight of these children, along with nutritional food, physiotherapy and prayer. God is central. Children with disabilities have not always been given the true recognition that they deserve. Uganda has many natural resources but its knowing how to use them which is the question. Teresha has spent twenty years in that country. We were told that all the services provided by the project are free. Our prayers were requested for these children and their parents. Teresha concluded with the words: "Prayer moves mountains."
The readings for the day were: 1 Isaiah 44. 6-8 Romans 8. 12-25 Matthew 13. 24-30, 36-43, the latter concerns the 'parable of the weeds'.
This Saturday, 25th July, there is our usual Coffee Shop in the Chapter House, between 10am - 12 noon. On Sunday, 26th July, there is 10am Parish Eucharist during which the Commissioning of the Mafambisa Team 2026 is taking place. Then, at 12 noon, the Baptisms of Teddy, Lily and Elizabeth will follow.
