The author of this piece was not present for last Saturday's Country Fayre and nor for last Sunday's Eucharist service. The feedback will no doubt appear but given what a hectic time the church family have had, news about the above will dribble through, rather than being immediately available to me. Hence, this week's report will be comparatively thin. Gaps will have to be filled in next week. The sounds and words from our annual Country Fayre were certainly apparent around the centre of Biggleswade and beyond. The weather was kind as well. Clearly, things were in full swing and as said, further details will be forthcoming. There may also be an additional article with photographs. At the time of writing, this cannot be confirmed.
On Saturday, 26th September, between 10am and 12 noon, there will be our usual Coffee Shop in the Chapter House. and on Sunday, 27th September there will be the 10am Parish Eucharist and Sunday School.
This Friday at St Peter's, 25th September, between 11am and 2pm, there will be a Macmillan Coffee Morning to which you are welcome. Looking further ahead, on Sunday, 4th October, at St Andrew's, there will be Said Communion at 8am. This is the more traditional service, Order Two, and which is perhaps a quieter gathering facing the memorial altar which certainly suits certain people and is always a good way to begin the day. Later, at 10am, there is the All Together Eucharist and both services will mark Harvest Thankgiving.
With our Mafambisa 2026 Trip to South Africa, Holiday Club and the Country Fayre, all now completed, St Andrew's is gearing up to the other Autumn and Winter celebrations and outreach. The website gives the details. As so often recorded in this paper, always remember that St Andrew's Parish Church is open for private prayer from 9am to 4pm, Monday to Saturday, unless otherwise stated.
