The writer of this weekly piece was absent through illness over last Sunday's activities and I haven't burdened my colleagues either for information as to what happened on Remembrance Sunday, both at St Andrew's and on the Town Square afterwards for the Remembrance Sunday Service which of course, included the Two Minutes Silence. Always very poignant. Our Eucharist started that bit earlier so that we could blend in pretty seamlessly with the broader community around the War Memorial at about 10:45am.
As often mentioned in print, our diary of future events as well as streams of other information, can be found on our church website. However, for some, understandably, anything to do with 'tech-stuff' can be challenging and so included in this report are items of help and interest for anyone really, including in particular, potential newcomers to the town and St Andrew's Parish Church. The following data is somewhat random, admittedly, but included are phone numbers that could be of help.
St Andrew's is part of the Biggleswade Deanery which in turn is an integral part of the diocese of St Albans.
Mandy is our Parish Administrator: secretary@standrewschurchbw@
Helen is our safeguarding officer. A message left with Mandy may be the best way to be navigated to the right person or department. Our general contact number: 01767 317207.
For anyone who is driving to St Andrew's for the first time and who particularly has a long way to come - if they have a 'satnav' or something similar - this is our address: 3. Shortmead Street, Biggleswade, SG10AT.
We are honoured to have a partner overseas in our Outreach Christian Mission: The community at Mafambisa, South Africa, with whom we share our mission through Hands at Work in Africa.
St Andrew's has quite a number of different Groups within the church buildings, such as, Friends of St Andrew's, Bell Ringers and Eco Church. Amongst the younger ages, there is Sunday School, Holiday Club, Rainbows, Brownies and Guides. For Room Bookings, contact Chris on: bookings@standrewschurchbw.
Newcomers or anyone who wishes for more guidelines, contact: Reverend Liz or our Reader, Rosemary. Alternatively, contact our churchwardens, Chris or Nettie. We can give details regarding: Baptisms, Confirmations, Weddings and Funerals.
