St Andrew's Update Christ the King

Last Sunday's 10am Parish Eucharist took place while the blustery and grey conditions of Storm Bert grumbled outside.  At least the temperatures had risen a little.  It was the Feast of Christ the King which marks the end of the liturgical year.  This coming Sunday, 1st December, will celebrate the new church year as well as marking our Patronal Festival, along with World Aids Day.  Meanwhile, back to last Sunday, Rosemary delivered her homily on the significance of Christ the King, stating that God is omnipresent, being with us in everything we do and hence, God is indeed always alongside from start to finish, so to speak.  Regarding this coming Sunday, we move into that beautiful season of Advent, a time for waiting, reflection and expectation.  Three services will take place, namely, 8am Said Communion, 10am Patronal Festival Family Eucharist and at 6pm, Advent Sunday Service of Light.  Also,  before this, from about 12:45pm onwards, people who have made a prior booking will be tucking into a suitable Sunday Roast with al the trimmings in the Chapter House.  It's no good booking now, we are full to capacity.  These lunches always consist of three courses plus a hot beverage to finish off before departure.

Today, that is to say, Friday, 29th November, between 12 noon and 9pm, it is the Christmas Lights Big Switch On in the Market Square of Biggleswade with all its various entertainments.  On Saturday, 30th November, St Andrew's is having its Christmas Bazaar from 10am to 3pm.  Our doors will be open for everyone to see what is going on and what will be on offer.  All are welcome because a Christmas Bazaar is no good without people! There will be a Cake Stall, Crafts, Tombola, Raffle Prizes and sustenance provided by the kitchen.  Do come along.

At this point, further information can be accessed via our website and noticeboards.  Time has run out for the author of this piece.  Do come at any time when the church is open during the week to see what is on offer and our future events and contacts.
