New COVID-19 Procedures in Church

Within our Church we believe that everyone is known and loved individually by God and that as many members within one body we are called to be responsible to and for one another, respecting the more vulnerable and sensitive whose suffering is our suffering. [I Corinthians 12.12-27]

New Procedures, as from Monday 19 July 2021

Most practices remain very comparable to previous weeks, other than the fact that these procedures are now advised rather than being enforced. The maximum number attending worship is no longer specified; services of Holy Communion will normally continue to be at 10.00 am on Sundays, and Thursdays, 09.30 am.

Throughout worship the north and south porch doors will remain open to maximise ventilation.

The central nave is no longer socially distanced, but the west end of the nave and the south aisle remain restricted to the use of alternate pews for those who prefer to be distanced.

Face coverings, sanitising, QR or ‘signing in’ is still encouraged and recommended. Facilities are available in the vestibule and adjacent to the south porch.

Singing: hymns for congregational participation on Sundays will be available by email and the website. There will be a limited number of printed copies; please take home after use. Persons who wish to sing should use pews in the central nave. Singing should not be loud, and, if possible, face coverings could be worn.

According to Church of England and RSCM advice/directions, increased numbers of choir members may sing in the chancel.

At the time of The Peace, greetings may continue to be as previously – a wave or verbal greeting; or, if mutually preferred, a handshake with adjacent worshippers but please do not hug or move from your pew.

The Administration of Holy Communion remains in one kind -bread only- for the congregation; please wait to be directed to receive near the screen, or at the chancel step for members of the choir.

As previously, please continue to place your envelope offerings and donations in the offertory plates positioned near the church entrances.

The Sunday Holy Communion service will continue to be available via Zoom; with the codes being published weekly on the website and in the pew sheet.

As from the week beginning Sunday 25 July 2021, our church will be open for private prayer on Wednesdays and Saturdays, 09.00 am to 12.00 noon, unless otherwise notified.
