Memorial Concert Yvonne Gray

Memorial Concert Yvonne Gray.

At last now the COVID restrictions have been lifted we are able to remember Yvonne and her life in a special and appropriate way following her passing in October 2020. On 19th November there are a couple of events planned to remember Yvonne and her special place within the various communities she was part of: as a teacher, as a choir director, as a private music teacher; as a member of St Andrew’s Church and as a mum, a grandmother and a friend. At 1 pm in the afternoon there will be a tree planting ceremony in the Church grounds when a Hamamelis x intermedia ‘Arnold Surprise’ will be planted in Yvonne’s memory. This is a small tree with lightly scented yellow flowers. Daffodils will be planted around the tree and other yellow flowers throughout the year. Yellow was Yvonne’s favourite colour. Of course everyone is more than welcome to join this special ceremony for a very special lady who played such a large part in the musical life of the Church and in the community. At seven o’clock in the evening there will be a memorial concert. Participant of the concert will be her family, her old pupils, her choirs, her many musical friends and a special performance by the Sandpiper Recorder Group which Yvonne ran in the eighties and nineties. The music will be very varied and will depict the music Yvonne liked. There will be an interval with refreshments. NO tickets are required but there will be a collection for the Sue Ryder Home in Moggerhanger which palliative care team looked so ably and lovingly after Yvonne during her last few days.

Venue of the concert: St Andrew’s Church, Shortmead Street, Biggleswade. Time: 7 pm start.

We look forward to seeing you there.

Laura, Gemma, Susannah and Nettie.
