Sunday School

Our Sunday School meets on Sunday mornings, during term time, in the Chapter House during the 10am Parish Communion Service.

Our Sunday School provides Christian teaching to children of all ages in a warm and friendly atmosphere. All age groups are provided for.

  • Christian teaching for children of all ages welcome
  • Allows children to develop their own relationship with God through a variety of activities
  • Our children can participate in the Crib Service on Christmas Eve
  • Children enjoy prayers, stories, crafts and games all age specific

A normal Sunday School morning involves prayer, a Bible story, songs, arts & crafts and maybe a game or two.

Our Sunday school is run by a group of volunteers who aim to offer all children the opportunity to develop their relationship with God through fun and interactive sessions.

We start our morning worship together with a time of prayer and reflection, a song, and then our focus Bible story for a time of listening, learning, and discussing. We then split into 3 groups to complete some crafts based upon the Bible story. We offer 3 activities for the children and every child gets the opportunity to join in with each of them. To conclude our worship, we all join in a circle to say the Lord’s Prayer together before re-joining our parents/carers in church for Communion.

An exciting part of our year is the Christmas Eve Crib Service; the children from Sunday school are given the opportunity to take part in our Nativity on Christmas Eve. All children that wish to take part are able to do so in whatever capacity they are comfortable with, from large speaking parts to small walk on parts- all children are able to participate. We begin rehearsals for this in October and run these during our time together on Sunday mornings ready for the performance on Christmas Eve.
